Entomologist’s Garden Wallpaper

Every year a botanist would bring plant specimens collected from faraway lands for the tropical greenhouse. The Duchess Violacea Macrobothrys was rather taken with the dashing entomologist who accompanied the botanist's visit to the house that spring and whilst they peered into glass display cases of butterflies, grasshoppers and beetles a spark flickered back and forth between them. Outside in the garden the peacock paused to admire his reflection in the window and saw the spark.'

Discover our wallpaper and silk cushions in this highly detailed jungle-luxe-bug design with an English feel in a vintage colour palette. Drawn to the idea of an Entomologist’s garden in the jungle with tropical palms, insects, Claire’s inspiration came from historical entomology and botanical prints. Often set out in oblongs they feel like peering into someone’s carefully arranged trays of insects or plant specimens and this informs the layout of the half drop repeat within the design. It also peaked Claire’s imagination as to who might have arranged them.
